Mejora tu pronunciación
Our pronunciation courses supplement our Spanish courses based on clips from movies and TV.
Because no matter how well you know grammar, how extensive your vocabulary is, or how many expressions you know, you will find it difficult to participate in conversations with native speakers if you have trouble pronouncing some sounds or can’t recognize some words and phrases when they are joined up in native speech.
Each lesson focuses on a specific aspect of pronunciation and consists of two parts:
«Mejora tu pronunciación 1»: problemas comunes
These lessons will help you to improve your pronunciation and your listening comprehension. Each lesson focuses on a specific sound that often causes problems for speakers of other languages.
In this course you can improve your ability to perceive and produce the following sounds:
- La erre vibrante simple (the sound of “r” in pero)
- La erre vibrante múltiple (the sound of “r” in perro)
- La be y la uve oclusivas y aproximantes (the sounds of “b” and “v” in Barcelona y a Barcelona or Valencia and a Valencia)
- La ge oclusiva y aproximante (the sounds of “g” in guante and aguante)
Many people who have studied Spanish and have a good level of vocabulary and grammar still have trouble understanding, or making themselves understood, in authentic conversations with Spanish speakers. These lessons will help attune your ear and improve your pronunciation.
The goal of these lessons is not to develop a native-speaker accent. This is not very likely for anyone who starts after puberty, and in any case is not necessary, as long as people understand you. However, these lessons will help you to improve your pronunciation and your listening comprehension, and to feel more confident in conversation with native speakers.
