It\u2019s also known as el D\u00eda de la Hispanidad (Day of the Hispanic identity), because it is also celebrated in Latin America under various names: D\u00eda del Encuentro de Dos Mundos (Chile), D\u00eda de los Pueblos Originarios y del Di\u00e1logo Intercultural (Peru), D\u00eda del Respeto a la Diversidad Cultural (Argentina), D\u00eda de la Raza (Honduras, El Salvador). In the USA it\u2019s celebrated as Columbus Day. In Canada it falls on the same day as Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row bg_type=&#8221;bg_color&#8221; bg_color_value=&#8221;#f9f9f9&#8243;][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<figure style=\"text-align:center;\">\n    <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"text-align:center;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.realspanish.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Estatua-Colon1.jpg\" alt=\"Statue of Crist\u00f3bal Col\u00f3n in Barcelona\" \/><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p>\nSpeaking about Columbus:  This statue is emblematic of Barcelona.
