Some lessons focus on the many different meanings and uses of common words such as leche, including colloquial expressions that use that word, such as ¡Eres la leche! Others explain various ways to express an idea or an emotion: for example, expressions for talking about speed, or expressions to reject a suggestion or a request. Others are based on clips from movies, TV programs, podcasts, and documentaries. You’ll also find lessons that explain aspects of Spanish that many speakers of other languages find difficult, such as the use of the subjunctive, words that can be masculine or feminine (such as el orden/la orden), pronominal verbs, verbs that function like gustar, and more.
Each lesson consists of:
A video in Spanish, with key words and phrases explained on-screen in English;

““Spanish for perfectionists” helps me a lot …: to recognize and train expressions, expand vocabulary, train my accent, understand native speaking without transcription or subtitles. What is precious and unique is that the author proposes strategies (for example, “the value of repetition”) of learning a foreign language – any language! The exercises are proposed in diverting and enjoyable ways, including flash cards/ Quizlet, and work with the video material is designed quite unique, supported by vocabulary notes, expressions, transcription and grammar notes… Highly recommended!
I found this book very useful for learning some commonly used expressions, which are normally what I am most interested in studying but which I struggle to find in usual textbooks. The focus here is not on grammar but on the practical use of the language. Nice to have the interactive exercises as well. The book also contains some explanations related to cultural aspects of the Spanish language. The instructions are in both Spanish and English. A very practical tool, I definitely recommend it!
This book is easy to follow with videos and transcripts. Key colloquial phrases are identified and have translations that help you to understand the context. The self-test section after each lesson gives you the opportunity to check your knowledge in a fun way.

I purchased this book / Kindle download so I could learn and practise my Spanish as I was bored of normal classes and traditional learning methods. The author is a well-qualified ex teacher with years of experience, who has shared some of her methods of how she has learnt Spanish to save us the hard work. It’s great to see explanations from a learner’s perspective by someone who ‘gets it’ and has captured all of the things that trip me up so well.
This is quite distinct and unique as it has everything in one place, is fun and easy to use and understand, in Spanish and English by two natives of each language, includes videos, full transcripts, vocabulary lists, grammar explanations and examples, quizzes etc so whatever your need or is your preference it is there.
What I love the best is that each chapter is full of the Spanish to English problems we all have and the colloquial phrases and how and when to really use them. Something you definitely do not get in a classroom or a study book. And you can then test yourself as you go along to check your learning and progress, and repeat it all as many times as you wish.
If you really want to progress and learn from someone who has gone through learning Spanish like you do, I highly recommend all of these in the series. I feel so much more confident in my Spanish now and cannot wait for more of the series to be released.
